What Is a Terms of Service Agreement?

A terms of service agreement is a critical legal document that outlines the rules and guidelines users must follow when accessing a website or using an online service. This agreement helps businesses protect themselves by clarifying user responsibilities, limitations, and rights. The terms of service agreement typically includes several essential sections such as user obligations, prohibited activities, intellectual property rights, and liability limitations. It also covers important topics like account registration, payment terms, dispute resolution, and termination conditions.
